Dad Charged After 2-Year-Old Allegedly Left Home Alone

June 14

Police were sent to a house to check on the welfare of a 2-year-old girl, who officers found alone in the residence. The girls' father, Trent Nathaniel Thomas, 31, of 6008 N.W. 49th St., Johnston, was charged with neglect or abandonment of a dependent person.

June 15

Officials with Youth Homes of Mid America reported a runaway. The juvenile returned on his own several hours later.

June 16

Chad Edward Callan, 32, 156 N.E. 49th St., Ankeny, was charged with OWI and failing to obey a traffic control device.

Ronald Eugene Polson Jr., 54, of 3606 53rd St., Des Moines, was charged with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sabrina Cree Dunn, 21, of 399 S. County Road 624 E., Miland, IN, and Keela Brittany Hart, 21, of 4400 Melrose Drive, Wooster, OH, were going door to door selling magazines. Both were charged with soliciting without a permit.
