Johnston Youth Cracks Top 5 in Bill Riley Talent Search at Iowa State Fair
Andrew Lee, 12, will compete in the sprout division championship later this week.
One talented Johnston resident has made the top five in the sprout division of the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair.
Andrew Lee, 12, made the cut with an outstanding piano solo.
Andrew will perform once again on August 17 or 18.

Each of the six Sprout Champions will receive a prize of $250 after the Championship Show. More than $15,000 will be awarded to the Senior and Sprout divisions combined.
Other sprout division finalist are:
- Kira Langenfeld, 8, Denison; Parker Bekkerus, 9, Denison, Tap Dance
- Rachel Forney, 10, West Des Moines, Vocal Solo
- Danielle Brocker, 12, Mount Pleasant; Micaela Fullenkamp, 11, Bloomfield, Jazz/Acro Dance
- Allie Tubbs, 12, Des Moines, Vocal Solo
