Johnston vs Urbandale Dig Pink/Spike Blue Volleyball Event Fights Cancer

This event is to celebrate the wonderful people in our lives and to celebrate the tremendous young women we see performing on the court, in the hopes they can live a life free of cancer.

From the Johnston Community School District:

Tuesday, October 8, 2013 is the annual Dig Pink / Spike Blue volleyball event against Urbandale.  It is also the Johnston varsity volleyball senior night as we celebrate another group of outstanding seniors.  This is the sixth year of the event and the team has raised more than $22,000 over the past five years to support the research and medical trials that will someday put an end to both breast and colon cancer.

The community’s tremendous support of the past few years has been inspiring and the volleyball team is asking that Johnston residents add to that inspiration once again this year.

The Dragon volleyball team is looking forward to your participation in this great event.  If you would also like to be involved by donating items, services or money, please contact Coach Rick Brooks.  Our website for the Dig Pink portion is https://www.side-out.org/cb/campaigns/campaign/6877.

Many have been touched by cancer.  This event is to celebrate the wonderful people in our lives and to celebrate the tremendous young women we see performing on the court.  It is our greatest hope that they can live a life free of cancer.  Thanks in advance for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on October 8th.
