While , voters in Johnston overwhelmingly supported Republican candidate Mitt Romney - a continued show of support from the January Caucus in Johnston.

The results were similiar to four years ago when Johnston residents bucked the trend and supported the McCain/Palin ticket, while the whole of Polk County supported Obama/Biden.
