Woman Reports Microsoft Scammer Stole $400, and Hotel Reports 50 Pool Towels Stolen: Johnston Police Blotter

Sept. 20:

A woman reported someone claiming to be from Microsoft and offering to assist in finding viruses on her computer, then offering extended protection plans, gained access to her banking account and stole over $400.

Clifford James Ertelt, 28, of Grimes, arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated at 5494 NW 86th St.

Sept. 21:

Wesley Adam Lamp, 46, of Persia, and David Grant Dunn, 47, of Charition, arrested and charged with public intoxication at 5295 Merle Hay Road.

Ricardo Ismael Ramirez, 48, of Des Moines, arrested and charged with first-degree harassment in regards to threatening phone calls.

AmericInn, 5050 Merle Hay Road, reported the theft of 50 pool towels.
