Mark your calendars now for the City of Johnston’s annual holiday celebration, Holidays in Johnston, held at the public library on Saturday, December 7th from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.
The party begins when Santa arrives on Johnston Fire Department’s ladder truck and continues with Johnston High School Madrigal Singers and the Summit Middle School Flute and Clarinet Choir. Stay to decorate a Christmas cookie provided by the Johnston Women’s Social Connection members. Officers from the Johnston Police Department will provide fun and game and Hy-Vee’s dietician will host a special food craft for the kids. The gingerbread house contest, sponsored by Johnston Community School District Education, is another can’t-miss part of the day.
