Johnston Morning Commute: Roads Should Be Passable

The city of Johnston snow crews have been out since about 3 a.m. Friday.

Roads in Johnston should be in pretty good shape when it comes to the morning commute.

Johnston snow plow crews have been out on the road since about 3 a.m.

"Things are going fine," Dave Cubit, Public Works Director said. "We should be in good shape by the 7 a.m. commute."

The brine pre-treatment crews put down seems to be working well - keeping the snow from from sticking to the pavement, Cubit said.

A winter storm warning remains in effect for much of Iowa until noon, but snow is very light.

Snow totals are estimated to be 4 to 7 inches before the day is over.
