ADD / ADHD: Always Start Conservative

ADD/ADHD is a sensitive subject for a lot of parents. To find the cure, you must find the cause.

Nearly 22 million children have been diagnosed with ADD / ADHD in America. Between 8 million and 10 million of those children are on mind-altering psychotropic drugs, such as Ritalin or Adderall.

At our clinic we always encourage parents to start with a conservative approach and search to find the CAUSE. There is always a cause, and you will never find the cure until you find the cause.

The research shows a strong correlation between lead toxicity and its correction to neurotoxic disorders such as Autism, ADD / ADHD. In our clinic, we don't guess—we test! We do a simple hair test that checks for heavy metal toxicity. From there we detoxify the metals, etc.

We also test for food sensitivities. A simple blood test can determine if your child should stay away from specific foods that they are sensitive to. We can also test for micro nutrient deficiencies.

Again, to find the cure... you MUST find the cause. The cause is usually a toxicity or deficiency. We encourage you to do your research before putting your child on medications. That should always be the last resort. Call the office today for a free consultation!

I'm curious about some of the long-term effects of children being on Ritalin or Adderall, as well as how brain chemistry changes as children age. Are there dependable web resources out there with answers to those kinds of questions?

Sure, www.Mercola.com is a great place to start. He is a D.O. out of Chicago and his team does a ton of research. You can type in anything from bottled water to cow's milk and he'll present the research, and you could literally read for years on his site. Below is a short article that explains the long-term effects... http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2007/12/01/drugs-are-not-the-answer-for-adhd.aspx Hope that helps :) Dr. B
