New Car Wash Plays Beats, Cleans Vehicles

Outside of the Hy-Vee store on Merle Hay Road, music is blasting from Johnston Car Wash.

Johnston Car Wash was formerly Super Wash until December, when Sam Gillotti of Johnston bought it.

“Our slogan is, ‘The Feel Good Wash,’ for your car and especially for you,” Gillotti said.

Johnston Car Wash has three self-service washes and two automatic washes.

Gillotti said the most unique feature is the music that plays. “We have music playing in the self-service washes.”

“People come here to get a clean car at a very reasonable price,” Gillotti said. “It’s close to Hy-Vee so people can grocery shop, then get their car washed.”

Gillotti said $1 off coupons are available at Hy-Vee and Casey’s General Store. Car washes could also be paid with tokens. A token is a $7 automatic car wash.

“Tokens are faster than cash or a card,” Gillotti said. “It’s like having a $7 bill.”

A token special is going on. Five tokens are $35, 10 tokens are $55 and 20 tokens are $100.
