Metro Day Care Center Expands Footprint with New Johnston Location

Traditions Children's Center opened March 4 in Johnston, the eighth center the company operates in the Des Moines area.

Traditions Children’s Center in Johnston opened March 4 just south of Horizon Elementary School, reports the Des Moines Register, and is operated by Robert and Bonnie Netteland.

The center can serve 195 children ages six weeks to 12 years in child care, preschool and before and after-school programs, the newspaper said.

The company's website lists eight child-care locations in the Des Moines metro area: three in West Des Moines, three in Clive, one in Urbandale and the Johnston site.

The company website describes the layout of the centers. Our newer child care centers in West Des Moines have an open floor plan with gymnasiums for large motor play. In these facilities, the infant program, toddler program, two, three, and four year old programs are housed in enclosed classrooms. The open area in the center of the building is utilized for the five year old program as well as the school age program. We transport to most schools in the areas surrounding each center.
