Best of Craigslist: Pre-Caucus Garage Sale Fundraisers to Ship Godless Liberals Out of State?

Also, Craigslist daters just can't catch a break, cheaters are advertising and victims are still wallowing in it.

(Editor’s Note: This story was originally posted on West Des Moines Patch and was written by local editor Beth Dalbey.)

Patch can’t call this breaking news, and there’s no category for “Heads Up!” in our new platform:

Be on the lookout for lots of garage sales ostensibly organized to get rid of useless junk, but in fact an elaborate plot to raise money to ship godless liberals out of Iowa in advance of the caucuses.

It happened in South Carolina, and it wasn’t pretty. It could happen here. Because, you know, when it’s on Craigslist, it’s a trend.

Julie in Ankeny, can you forgive him? He was in college. He behaved badly (Patch cleaned it up.) Years have passed and he’s sorry for how things unfolded. He would like to make amends.

DISCUSS THIS: Should Julie give him a second chance? Or is it too little, too late?

There’s a lot of #CraigslistDrama in Ankeny this week. This guy is engaged to someone who thinks its OK to talk to other men in secret. “It’s not,” he says, and he’s “working on replacing her.”

On Craigslist. Go figure. No matter. No one wants to be a rebounder.

In West Des Moines, she Daisy-Duked it up for him.

And in Johnston, he opened his mouth and said “aah.”

In Waukee, #craigslistdating exposed: “Why does this site not work? Why do I waste my time? Is there anyone real on here? ... Do guys or gals really ever send real pictures?”

In Urbandale, a guy’s unloading his man cave and willing to barter to get rid of some  steak knives and 60s memorabilia. Patch is sorta curious to know how that works out.

Head-Scratchers and Face-Palm Moments

Hot Tamales made him – or her – do it. Patch doesn’t even want to know why.

Situational ethics? He’s married so he “can’t rightfully just  come up and talk” to Red Impala. But if she reads his post on Craigslist and gets ahold of him, it’s OK. Really?

Apparently so.

It’s epidemic.

Even if it’s weird later.

Begging is so unattractive. And that’s not all.

And finally, this week’s installment of stop wallowing in it.
